Hi.
Im due to fly to the Seychelles in a few days time. My flight is via Doha. It seems I will be unable to get there due to the crisis in Middle East. Theres a FCDO advice do not transfer via Qatar and my flight is likely to be cancelled.
I have paid for 2 hotels in Seychelles and I approached Booking.com if they could wave a cancellation fee but both hotels refused. I have a travel insurance but I dont know if im covered as Im only transfering

Could you put a picture up of your travel insurance document? We can then tell you if you're covered or not.

Can you change your flights to a direct flight?

I'd look for new flights - ba?

No, nothing is available from the UK via Ethiopia or Kenya. Most tour operators have bought the tickets for their customers

If there is no contractual responsibility for your travel providers to assist you, there may be coverage available under Section A-Trip Cancellation, under the policy term below.

The Travel Advice Unit of the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) or other regulatory authority in a country in which you are travelling advising against all travel or all but essential travel to the area you are travelling to/in, but not including where advice is issued due to a pandemic or regional quarantine, providing the advice came into force after you purchased this insurance or booked the trip (whichever is the later) and was within 21 days of your departure date.

This is an email I just received but I still dont know that if Im only transfering I am covered

Flights booked with BA but operated with Qatar Airways

Has anyone already tried to claim for unused accommodation?
