hoping to go next month. Had ruled it out as the drive is ridiculous from us but just seen BA fly from gatwick. 1 hour flight!

So... please tell me of any fab self catering type places we could stay. Need 2 bedrooms. Never been to newquay...

tbh I wouldn't go to newquay there are much nicer places to stay in cornwall we drive down there from the south east about 4 times a year and it isn't too bad

this company have lovely cottages

they look good thanks. ITs about 6 hour drive from us (traffic permitting) and as we are only hoping to go for a w/e it be a nightmare for ds. Esp as i realised today we could fly for 1 hour! That is the only place BA fly to (using dh frequent flyers)

Most of Newquay is truly vile I'm afraid, although it has to said the surf is good - although with a 2 year old that might not be your priority!

If you're able to hire a car, I would try and stay somewhere 15-30 mins drive from Newquay, there are some beautiful places on and around that coastline. Then you could drive to anything in or near Newquay you want see - the Zoo, Lappa Valley railway etc.

I would NOT stay in Newquay... We stay at a friends appt near Wadebridge and then go into Newquay to the Zoo etc, or want to do the round of surfy style shops.

There are loads of lovely places around Newquay so would definately consider renting a car etc.
