Where to stay: Hay on Wye recommendations please...

I'd appreciate recommendations for a 2-night stay in or near Hay on Wye. We like pubs with rooms and chain hotels, but could pay more for the right place. Not interested in spas, gyms or swimming pools. One of us is vegetarian. No dogs. Thanks 💐💐💐 in advance.

The only hotel is The Swan in Hay but as you like pubs with rooms you could also try the Black Lion (in Hay) or the Rhydspence or Foyles (both maybe 3 miles from Hay) which all do good food. Otherwise it’s Airbnbs, self catering or glamping.

I stayed at Aberllynfi Guest House in Glasbury a few years ago. It has beautiful riverside views. The breakfast was good. There is a pub nearby. It’s about 4 miles from Hay-on-Wye.

It’s not the most glamorous but there’s Baskerville Hall in Clyro which is close to Hay
