What do you recommend to see. Where abouts to stay.

Can we get to Eastbourne easily.

If you're there on a Sunday, go to the Hotel du Vin for their Sunday lunch, which includes the 'French Market table' - a buffet where you can eat as much as you like, including fantastic continental meats, seafood, pickles etc., as well as soup to start with, a main course and a pudding. Visit the Royal Pavilion, wander round the North Laine, as well as the Lanes. If you like Indian food try the Chilli Pickle. The fried doughnuts on the pier are amazing. Preston Street has many different types of restaurants, worth a look - the Regency at the bottom on the seafront (fish and chips and seafood) has been there since the 60s and is really good - very popular with Japanese visitors! Take a bus out to Stanmer Park if you can. You could also visit the old gaol underneath Brighton Register Office. Have a lovely visit!

Visit Arundel, Chichester, Devil’s Dyke?

If you like the beach head to Hove along the seafront as a PP said; you’ll know you’re there as the colour of the railings on the prom changes from turquoise to dark green, and there are beach huts not shops.

If you like wine, and a countryside walk, a half day out to a vineyard is doable e.g. train to Hassocks and walk an hour to Albourne, no need to book on a tour they have a nice tasting room. Or taxi if not wanting to walk.
