Family woodland/wildlife lodge recommendations NE

I am turning 30 in September and would like to book a little family staycation for me, my husband, my soon to be 4 month old and pooch. I’d love to book somewhere woodland with wildlife close by to the lodge/home such as badgers, pond/lake life and foxes. Ideally I’m looking for somewhere close to north east of England that is reasonable in price and things to do nearby such as pottery painting, national trust and family tourist places.
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated ☺️

Kielder water?

I came on to recommend Kielder Waterside, and see that I’ve been beaten to it! But the only catch is that it’s not very close to any of the activities you’ve mentioned. There is stuff to do onsite though.
