Center parcs Christmas - Sherwood or Whinfell?

Never been to CP before but my mum’s suggested we all go for Christmas this year so I’m doing some research. We’re pretty much in between Whinfell and Sherwood (slightly longer drive to Whinfell) and wondering which is better in your opinion and why? For the dates we’re looking at we can get a premium lodge at Whinfell for slightly less ££ than a standard one at Sherwood.

For info, our little ones will be 5yo and 18 months old. My disabled sister will be coming too, she can walk but she struggles with uneven terrain so the flatter the better if there’s lots of walking involved (I hear Whinfell is a bit hilly?) although I’m looking at booking a lodge as close to the amenities as possible.

Thanks in advance!

Sherwood was nicer than Whinfell, especially the pool. Longleat is by far the best though.

With your sister's disability, I'd go Sherwood. It's pretty flat.

Whinfell is extra attractive to those who would like to go off site to the Lakes (Ullswater and Keswick close by) and if you aren't going to do that then I'd go Sherwood.

Yeah, I’ve heard a lot of people say Longleat is the best! It’s a 4 hour drive from us without taking Christmas traffic into account so a bit of a mission for 4 nights 😅 if we were going for longer I’d definitely consider it though!

Thanks, good to know! We’re definitely planning to stay onsite and make the most of it given the cost at Christmas 😅

Kids area at Sherwood for those ages us miles better. We were there last weekend. They also had this cute Christmas village which was still there and was lovely.

We went to Sherwood for Christmas this year - it was amazing! Pool far better than Woburn (haven’t been to winfell) flat terrain and our DD8 had the best time. Swimming on Xmas day with poolside pizza and then did party food for tea back in the lodge later on (heard the Christmas meal in restaurants is pricey and quality is hit and miss) Hucks for dinner Boxing Day was amazing though.

wouldn’t hesitate to re book
