Wondering what the area is like in terms of what to do and where to eat nearby. Also is it good to holiday there?

It is like a quiet little retirement village. We used to stay at a Great Aunt's holiday bungalow there with our kids.

It was lovely for relaxing and trips to the beach. We would also go into Bognor for a day out (you can even get day passes to Butlins which we never did but cousins did) and to Chichester to go shopping and for a wander.

There was a nice Indian restaurant back then in the next village along.

It's a laid back holiday experience.

Beach is fab. Mix of sand and shingle with rock pikes that make lagoons for swimming. Sheltered bits for kids. It's got no parking so quietish even in summer. Dog friendly.

It's not a huge place for fine dining but there are pubs/ cafes.

I grew up in the next village along in Middleton on Sea. The beach is nice especially when the tide is coming in/out as you get the big sheltered pools to swim in and there’s a decent amount of sand when it’s low tide.

There’s not much to do close by - Elmer itself is tiny with just a couple of local pubs and a premier shop. Felpham village has The Fox, and The Lobster pot which are nice for food but Bognor itself is rubbish, as long as you’ve got a car there’s plenty in a short driven distance eg Arundel, Chichester, lovely walks around Bosham and on the South Downs with some great country pubs.

Thank you all
