Hotels in London - why can't I make a decision!!!!

I am going around in circles trying to book a hotel in London for DH, DS and I in August for 2 nights.

I cannot make up my mind where I want to be and what I want!

DS is almost 7 and as it's only 2 nights I would like somewhere nice (min 4 star) and within walking distance of tube and lots of restaurants.

Any suggestions?

I have looked at InterCon on Park Lane, Meridien on Piccadilly etc.

rooms are tiny at the intercon

How about sheraton park towers in knightsbridge?

The marriott at county hall

The sofitel st james

The covent garden hotel - monmouth street

These hotels near green park tube station

Not quite as upmarket as the ones you have mentioned but I stayed here with my sister & DS (then nearly 5) last summer. We had a good family room and it's right opposite the Science & Natural History Museums.

Thanks all.

Am liking the look of the Covent Garden Hotel - any ideas of how I can get cheaper rates??

ConfusedMover - that looks nice but is full unfortunately.

Also really like OneAldwych but tis expensive!

I got the Covent Garden Hotel for £99 a night using the Lastminute.com secret hotel thing. If you look carefully at the descriptions of the secret hotel and match it to the description from the hotel's own website, you can usually work out which one it is!

Soapbox! Not available now. The top secret one is a 4 star on Trafalgar Square.
