New years staycation

Does anyone have any recommendations for somewhere to go outside London (no more than 2 hours from West London ideally down the m40 or A40) for new years 2-3 nights no more than £500 for 2 adults and 1 child. Can’t find anything good on air bnb so other ideas welcome

With those specifics I presume you are looking at Oxford, Cotswolds etc?
Surely there are lots of town & villages along that corridor or alternatively, keep going and go into Birmingham?

A staycation is just that, a stay-put vacation (i.e. a break whilst remaining at home).
