Anyone been to a party in a hired central London venue

…that you could set up your own free bar? Looking for a venue in central / west London (zone one or two) for a party for 150 people. Maybe an interesting building owned by a Trust, Charity, Council, School or any private company really.

Or even a venue finder website recommendation

I’ve been to a few black tie events at interesting venues. Banqueting House was lovely and I think was outside catering. Also the London Transport Museum was really cool, and was definitely a hired bar.

Look for wedding venues that offer corkage – there are plenty around.

We had our wedding reception at The Amadeus in W9 and had our own bar.

I had my 50th in a church hall in Chiswick - St Michael & All Angels in Bedford Park.

It was a few years ago now (ahem) but we brought in food and drink and our own bar staff (friends’ student children) and from memory paid a very small pp corkage.

I would say try community halls and similar in quieter neighbourhoods - you are looking for something not in too much of a residential area due to noise restrictions
