Quirky things to do in Edinburgh

We are there for 2 full days and like the weird and wonderful! Also any good restaurant/bar recommendations please.

You can go to Islander and make your own Harris Tweed bag, there are a few of them in the city and it’s really a good time.

Walk out to Crammond Island, walk the Hermitage of Braid (and so many other amazing walks).

National Galleries Modern 1 regularly has art classes / workshops on that you can book into. Cafe is also superb.

Inverleith House at the Botanic garden also has all sorts of quirky / unusual exhibits on through the year.

Dr Neil's Garden is nice - but a bit bland if this is a winter visit, best in spring, summer or autumn.

Atlas Obscura website is good for finding weird sights.

Loved the underground tour, yes it's touristy but I love a bit of history and the spooky edge.

Also, second the mash potato restaurant. I would go back to Edinburgh for that alone!!
