Anyone live in/around Taunton?

Hello

in a couple of weeks a small group of us will be flying to Bristol and driving from there to rural Devon. We land at 10am and will pick up a car then thought it would be nice to find somewhere en route for brunch, and can see we’ll drive near to Taunton.

if you have any brunch recommendations in Taunton or nearby please do let me know. I’ve seen the Corner Club which looks quite cool?

is there much in Bridgwater?

I’d swerve Bridgwater personally. There’s nice cafes in Taunton, I’ll ask my mum for recommendations, I meet her there but I forget where

I agree, don't bother with Bridgwater. The cafe at Rumwell farm shop is rather nice and if you're happy to go a little further (practically go past the junction amyway) go to Wellington as there are some good places around there. The one at the Cleve Hotel used to be lovely, but I've not been for a couple of years now.

Corner Club is fun but you can’t book. Boston Tea Party in the centre is nice but you also can’t book.
Agree to swerve Bridgwater, but there is a great brunch place called Kitchen very close to Nether Stowey.
Also Sheppey’s cider farm between Taunton and Welly for breakfast.
I’d avoid Rumwell - it’s massive and not very exciting.

I second the Rumwell. It's not too far from the motorway and the food is lovely. Best book though on their website as it gets busy.

I agree Sheppy's is also good, there are lovely orchards you can wander around as well.

I would definitely do sheppy’s over rumwell, sheppy’s breakfast is really good!

I liked Rumwell when there for a big family get-together earlier in the year.
