Halloween at Cheddar Gorge caves - Is it discreet or in your face? (Sensitive children)

I am considering a trip to Cheddar Gorge caves with my DH and two DS (6 and 8) in October half term. However, I have noticed that the Halloween event is on at this time. As a family we do not celebrate Halloween and both DS are sensitive young children who dislike anything scary.

Can anyone who has been to Cheddar Gorge caves in the Halloween season advise how prevalent the Halloween decorations are? Is it something minor that is easily avoided or is it v immersive and in your face?

Thanks

Ren Margaret

We were there last year during Halloween. The caves themselves were fine. But the outside area was all decorated, the staff were dressed up and many visitors were also dressed up. We were given a Halloween treasure hunt to do along the way. I wouldn't say it was scary but you couldn't avoid it really.

We were there last year and the kids made a Halloween badge and coloured in some pictures. My daughter is terrified of anything that’s slightly scary and she was fine
