Good budget friendly manor hotels with indoor pool

Hi all,

I am pregnant and we are trying to plan a 2-3 night stay in October. I am struggling to find a nice place to stay!

We have been to Pendley Manor and really found it nice and relaxing. I loved the old building, staff were friendly, the indoor pool was great. Afternoon tea was nice. Breakfast was great, dinner was not bad. I would like something similar.

I can't use saunas and only half keen on a massage so it doesn't need to be a spa hotel per se. More like a manor with a pool!

Would really appreciate any suggestions- we dont have a car and live in London so would be taking public transport.

Possibilities so far:

  • the Elms (but reports on staff service isn't positive...)
  • Carey's Manor (but again customer service seems so poor...)

We aren't that wealthy so something around £200 a night would be best.

If you loved Pendley Manor, you’re on the right track — look for country-house hotels with an indoor pool that are a short train/taxi from London and ask them directly about pool access during pregnancy (no saunas, shallow ends, lifeguard). A few to consider:
Pendley Manor — you already liked it and it does have an indoor pool.
Burnham Beeches Hotel (near Windsor) — refurbished country house with pool and good Elizabeth Line / local train access. Often good value around your budget.
Great Tangley Manor / similar Surrey manor houses — lots of manor-style properties in Surrey with pools; many are reachable by train + short taxi. (Check Dorking/Guildford area options.)
Practical tips:

  • Call the hotel before booking to confirm pool depth, baby-friendly rules, and whether they can disable spa/sauna access.
  • Ask about arrival by public transport — which station to aim for and estimated taxi cost.
  • £200/night is realistic off-peak for mid-range manor hotels, but book early for October weekends.
