UK family holiday help

Due to health issues, we’ve had to cancel a holiday abroad and are looking for recommendations for a week’s holiday in the UK (preferably in the south) Where can we go to keep a 7 and 11 year old entertained? Wish list would include a bit of beach, and a variety of activities. Central base, range of things to do and even a tried and tested itinerary would be gratefully received!

We had a week in Weymouth highly recommend the place we had a brilliant time

DMIL has just taken the dc on a holiday to Paignton and so far they’re loving it and the pictures look fantastic. They’re doing Paignton Zoo, Kent’s Cavern, steam railway, a RIB boat ride, House of Marbles, and Babbacombe Model Village.

Paignton, Weymouth or Isle of Wight. Can also recommend Kent. We stayed in the Deal area.

Recommend the Isle of Wight. We fed alpacas, visited a pig farm, a donkey sanctuary. There is an excellent circus, Osborne House, Carisbroke Castle and a steam train. You can take a cable car down to the beach at Alum Bay and take a boat out to the Needles. Lovely beaches and our GD loved the Solar Walk on Ventor Prom which graphically explains the position of the planets.

Saundersfoot in Wales. Heatherton is a 10 minute drive and we go three times over a week. So many activities. Trampoline park at Haverfordwest. Beautiful beaches.
