Best places for families in Cornwall

Planning on going soon. Best places for nearby restaurants, pubs, rock pooling for crabbing and hopefully not using the car that much!

Depends on budget but Looe is good for kids. Beach is in the town, plenty of pubs, cafes etc. short drive up the road to Polperro, it’s a typical Cornish seaside town that hasn’t changed much over the years. My kids are adults now but was one of their favourite places. Plenty of crabbing! It’s also very reasonably priced for a Cornwall based holiday as it’s not as gentrified as many of the towns and villages in the county.

Fowey and St. Ives

Fowey is lovely, I know it well, but it’s one of the more expensive places to stay, both rentals and restaurants etc in the town are pricey. One tip for a rental in Cornwall, especially if you want to be in/near a town
or village, make sure the accommodation comes with reserved off street parking. I still rent regularly in Cornwall, Fowey, Penzance, Falmouth…. I’d never consider a place that didn’t have parking. Some rentals state ‘on street’
parking is available but don’t rely on it, driving around looking for a space after a day out is no fun.

My husband’s home town, @charliehungerford 😃
Parking is a very good point.
