Solo easy walking weekend - north of England

Hello… I am taking off for a weekend in mid August as a last minute thing on my own, away from kids/partner.
I’d like to go somewhere with a nice pub where I can have a wine in the evening with my book, some short and scenic walks/hikes during the days and a nice village/town to mooch maybe, in the north/north east of England, Peak District, Lake District - any of those are fine.
I’ve on my got a couple of days away, but any suggestions are gratefully received.

DH and I like Goathland on the North Yorkshire Moors for easy walks. It’s not a big village but has everything we need, plus a gorgeous waterfall and a train station (on the North Yorkshire moors steam railway line between Whitby and Pickering). The moors look stunning in August, and you can jump on the train to Grosmont and Whitby for more great walks. We’ve had brilliant stays at both The Mallyan Spout and The Inn on the Moor.

I love the Yorkshire Dales. We went last month and did a lovely circular walk from Grassington that took in a lovely tea room at Hebden.

I'd go to Keswick, lots of pubs and lovely places to eat and nice places to stay and walks from the door. I'd walk round the lake one day (well halfway round, have lunch at a pub and catch the wee ferry back to Keswick) and up Catbells the other. There's a lovely cafe on the way to Catbells with a beautiful garden to visit.

Alternatively, I'd go to Alnmouth or Alnwick and walk the coastal path and eat a lot of fish and chips.

These are great ideas, thank you!
