How much do they charge compared to B&Bs?

i didn't think you cold rent them like a b&b!!

however, all the decent halls (post grad) will be fine and clean with en suite facilities so probably a goodbet.

Our local Uni does hire like this - the tourist information board out me on to them - but no-one's answering phone today. I need to just check the prices to tell someone tonight. Long shot really!

Can you search on their website? We have stayed in York and the prices are on this page.

Thanks Idris - I did look on the website but it was only stuff for the students. It's more expensive than I thought on the link you did. I hope our Halls are cheaper! I've got 5 people to put up and all the B&Bs are full. Will ring again tomorrow.

We did that years ago at Canterbury University when dh and I went for a long weekend there. We were so so skint but had the chance of a few days away.

I can't remember how much it was but it was much cheaper than B&B at the time.

Mind you when we saw the room it was pretty darn grim. The hot water wasn't working and by a complete stroke of luck they gave an alternative room which turned out to be a senior lecturers apartment or something.

It was absolutely fantastic but I don't think it was the norm . We were very lucky.

The rooms are for the band we having at my party and according to their bass player "they ain't fussy" where they get their heads down!

Last summer I paid £40 b&b single room in Oxford (twas fab BTW - like being in Brideshead)

Moomin, you may find some info on the Uni website under Conferencing and/or Events - I know that this department deals with B&B bookings at our local Uni. (that's if you haven't tried this already)

Moomin · 27/05/2008 23:02

oooh do you know what? It is under the events listing. Thanks so much for that NoLonger. Cheers!
