Driving Cardiff to York - where to stop on the way?

We’ll be driving from Cardiff to York in the school holidays and looking to break up the journey with a lunch stop on the way. Somewhere more interesting than a service station but not too far from the motorway. Even a nice park if it has loos!
Looking for suggestions - thanks

Statfold Country Park is near the M42 junction 11. There’s loads to do.
Further on, past Nottingham, there’s Bolsover Castle and Hardwick Hall which are easily accessible from the M1.
Aston Springs Farm is good if you’ve got younger dc.
