Must do things in Edinburgh?

We've visited Edinburgh a couple of times before, and I have the chance of going back again on my own - probably will be the last time I go. On my own which doesn't bother me at all, so I can do exactly what I want!

What would be your must do things/repeat?

Have visited National Galleries Museum, Holyrood House, Edinburgh Castle, Dungeons of Edinburgh, walks around Marchmont, Stockbridge before.

I'm considering the Royal Yacht or somewhere along the coast for one trip (any comments appreciated on this one), Carlton Hill, traditional Scottish pub (I like traditional pubs), other museums, some shopping. However, I don't want to miss out on something I really should be doing.

The Edinburg chocolate experience was wonderful! They even cater for Vegans/allergies! It was such a fantastic morning and the chocolate you make to bring home is delicious.

St.Marys close was great too, a full on immersive experience with actors but in the real old town underground m.

If you want a good pub go to the Guildford Arms. Fantastic.

Thanks so much for your replies. Really going to look into options. There's so much to do in life, so this will probably be the last time I return to Edinburgh (DH not up for returning, but I've earned brownie points for a guilt free trip away on my own😂).

I've just spent a work day walking around Edinburgh for various meetings between Holyrood, St Andrews House, and Charlotte Square, It's reminded me what a bloody brilliant town it is. Some amazing views, such a sense of history and atmosphere....

Get the train to South Queensferry for a walk around or over the bridge to Aberdour, nice beaches and cafes. Or as others said art galleries, botanic garden or even just shopping in St James centre.
Where about are you planning to stay? And when are you coming?

My mum and dad thought Britannia was super overrated.
