City Farm but a bugger to find

[[www.whirlikidz.co.uk/ whirlikidz in Chepstow is super. Cakes are divine and the soft play area perfect for your children - a baby area as well as main play frame and big slide. Very clean ( I am a stickler for Cleanliness), but slightly off your journey direction.

Try www.5minutesaway.co.uk or .com, I cannot remember, but you look up a motorway and it tells you what is near the junction, it is a godsend!

anyone else

thanks for these, but none ideally located

really want somwehere not too far south from where we join the M5 after leaving the M4

so, not being fussy or anything here or hereabouts would be great

otherwise it'll be the sedgemoor services...

What about Prinknash Abbey bird Park? It's not far from Junction 11a and will give you chance to stretch your legs.

If it's nice go to Clevedon, have lunch in one of the beach front cafes, a stroll on the pier and throw some stones in the sea. Ok it's the Severn Estuary and the sea is sometimes brown but it's also very quiet and pretty.

Or if you are of a creationist bent there's always Noah's Ark farm zoo.

Puxton Park

Has the steepest slides I've ever been on.

Bristol Zoo VG
Also recommend Slimbridge wildfowl place, just north of Bristol. REally nice garden with bird areas themed by continents. Good play area, decent canteen, nice loos etc.

We like to stop at Ikea because we can put all 3 of our children into the free creche for 45 blissful minutes. This is great on a long journey. They bounce around in the ball pool, we relax or shop.
