New assport not received but holiday booked

I’m going away in July and due to life stressors recently I hadn’t got round to renewing passport. It has now expired.

I’ve got a trip booked in July and now I’m panicking it won’t be done quick enough. How long did your application take? My Mum had hers done and it took less than a week so I stupidly didn’t get the urgent fast track option.

what can I do if anything?

“Application history
StatusDate
Documents received
5:43pm on 5 June 2025
Application received
12:02pm on 3 June 2025
Application submitted
12:01pm on 3 June 2025”

When in July do you leave?

Given they received it on the 5th, I wouldn’t be too worried.

Thank you I hope so, and 7th july

do they give heads up notice if photo is rejected

Get onto online chat . A woman rang me within 3 minutes of me messaging on there coz the status of mine had froze and I rang up and they didn’t know why so I left it another few days and it turned out they were waiting for more information but it didn’t tell me anywhere . So I did an online chat with them they got the information and it went to print the same day .

Yes they tell you it's not been accepted & ask you to upload another one.

In my case it was the day after the application was submitted they advised the photo was rejected.

I recently applied and this was my timeline - basically just under 2 weeks from submitting application (I posted my documents the same day), to it arriving in the post.
Submitted application - 30th April
Documents received - 2nd May
Application approved - 9th May
Passport printed - 10th May
Passport received - 13th May
I think it's still very early to be concerned. Did you use a photo place for the studio as they tend to make sure they're acceptable them before you pay for them.

Ohmygodthepain · 07/06/2025 10:29

They've had one working day so far, I think you're worrying too much op. If you've not heard in a fortnight I'd be panicking, not after 1 day!

There's ages before July, ime the passport office is one of the best government departments there is but on the other hand don't assume that everyone's applications take the same amount of time or that there's a standard time for all applications received on the same day as yours, it doesn't work like that

MyHappyUmberGoose · 07/06/2025 11:35

Lovehoney is probably your best bet for an assport.

Best typo ever

PPwait · 07/06/2025 11:53
