We are heading to Bournemouth for the May half term break. We are a family of four with two children aged 10 and 6. Would really appreciate any recommendations of places to visit and restaurants to eat. Thank you so much.

If the weather is good then you can’t beat the beach. You could look into hiring a beach hut for a day or two.
Mudeford Spit is beautiful for a day trip. You can walk over/around from Hengistbury head or take the land train. Another lovely way is to get the ferry.
Moors Valley is nice for a walk/cycle, play park, Go ape. But parking is expensive and gets very busy during the holidays.
If it does rain then Rock Reef climbing centre on the pier is fun for kids.

There are plenty of open top buses that are just the same price as normal buses, I think they are called breezers run by Morebus.
