Cider in Newcastle upon Tyne any good pubs?

Background DH's idea of fun is going on pub crawls. He's very into beer, specifically real ale. In the past I've joined him. However I now have an intolerance to it so drink cider instead.

I live in Somerset so there's plenty of choice in good dry ciders. It looks like up north cider refers to sweet fizzy stuff, like Strongbow.

I know I could just drink other stuff and Pepsi and coke make regular appearances. Wine is really expensive and I don't do do spirits.

So I'm looking for suggestions of somewhere that does painstripper cider.

Most of the pubs serve inches or aspalls, I too prefer cider and hate the flavoured ones. I like The Bodega and Tilleys bar on west gate road. I also like the Bacchus on High bridge street, all of these are traditional bars. Enjoy your stay.
