Caravan parks in the north

We're based in North Yorkshire. We usually have a big holiday once a year but I thought it would be nice to find a holiday park close by where we could go for a cheap weekend break now and then with the kids.
Loads of people recommended Primrose Valley, including a client who has a caravan there. We just got back and we hated it. The site was nice and the kids loved the activities but the place was full of noisy, pissed up chavs.

Can anyone recommend a nice site around North Yorks/the North East? Are any of the other Haven sites around there better?

I came on here to recommend Primrose Valley. Sorry OP.
I'm sure someone else will be along soon

Thornwick bay and Berwick are both smaller haven sites which we like.

I just got back from primrose valley and saw none of that behaviour. Even commented on how civil it was.

Woodhouse Farm near Ripon.

Thornwick bay is a haven site but relatively newly acquired by them, much nicer, we used to love a cheap camp at haven but avoided the big ones and this was our favourite.

I'd stay away from big chain caravan sites such as Haven / parkdean etc if you want to avoid pissed up chavs!

Another recommendation for Thornwick Bay from me!

Rudding Park, Harrogate is a lovely campsite. Has small pool and lots of play areas . You can also eat at the small bar . As a treat you can book a table at the hotel restaurant.

It's a few years ago now but we went to Haggerston Castle and had a nice time. Stayed in static caravan, don't remember any significant noise or any bother, even though it was pretty busy. It was the summer but outside of term time admittedly.

I like Haggerstone Castle. Need a car if based there as most things are a short drive away.

We’ve been to Berwick a handful of times but there’s not much for kids. It’s a quite park.
