We have a rare night away opportunity in a few weeks and would like to stay somewhere special. We like the corinthia but would like to try somewhere new. Needs to be fairly close to London. Any hidden gems or good recs?

What about the Raffles hotel at OWO? Round the corner to the Corinthia, is stunning and has the hidden bar in it?

What do you mean by fairly close to London?

our go to is the waterside inn in bray because we love the restaurant. We occasionally spend a night in London but we never enjoy the food as much.

@MissreginafalangeI’d not heard of this hotel before, looks stunning. What’s the hidden bar?! Sounds cool

Cliveden House Hotel in Berkshire.

If you're willing to go into London, Claridge's is perfect.

@Cynic17I’ve always wanted to stay at Claridges. They’ve got the spa now haven’t they? Does it live up to the hype?

@chamberayits called the spy bar and you are not allowed to take pictures in it, does fantastic cocktails! Aptly named bar due to the building having Mi5 links in its previous life before it became the hotel 2 years ago. We have held a work event there 2 years running in the ball room and it’s fab.

Four Seasons in Hampshire is pretty lovely

chamberay · 19/04/2025 23:25

@curious79we've stayed there quite a bit with the kids. I used to love it there but the prices seem to have gone silly now and it seems a bit too much for what it is (imo)
