Arthur’s Seat - how long to walk to top?

Hi, teen DD and I have a getaway booked to Edinburgh in a few weeks and she’s expressed an interest in walking up Arthur’s Seat.

How long does it take approximately to walk to the top? We’re relatively fit and healthy but in no means athletes and so would be at a relatively leisurely pace.

thanks!

Are you starting at Holyrood? So not doing the whole trail? If so, about 30-40 mins

Yes about 45min if you're taking it easy.

Yes - we’d be starting at Holyrood.

Oh that’s perfect, thanks

Definitely well under an hour, even with stopping to admire the view. You'll need shoes with a decent grip as it's the sort of surface that's slippery when dry and slippery when wet. If the weather conditions aren't great then the views from Calton Hill are also really good and that's just a short walk up steps and a tarmac path if you go from the Waterloo Place / A1 side.

Thank you and noted re footwear! We’re looking forward to it and hoping for dry weather!
