North wales beach holiday recommendations

Hey I’m hoping to have a wee road trip down to north wales but really not sure where we need to be looking, but hopefully you guys can help me out.

Its just two adults and we’d like to be near a beach and a town with nice restaurants for the evening and maybe something to do in the day time if it’s raining.

We’re going in mid April so not too hopeful on having ice beach weather, but we don’t mind a windy walk along the coast.

Beaumaris. Not a great beach but plenty within a short distance.

Talacre is a lovely beach. There's a small centre with a couple of shops, a pub and chippy. Don't know if there are any restaurants though, will be a short drive away.

New Quay is lovely, though more mid west than north. Beddgelert is beautiful but not on the coast, Black Rock Sands not too far. Llanbedrog is my favourite N Wales beach but not sure about Pwllheli which is the nearest town.

Llandudno is nice, there's a pier to walk along and you can go on the cable cars or tramway up the Great Orme for amazing views. You can also do an open top bus tour that takes you along to Conwy and back.

Aberdovey is lovely especially if you have dogs or Barmouth . The sunsets are beautiful .

You cant go wrong in North Wales

I feel Llandudno and Conwy area are a great base, plenty of beaches nearby plenty of good eating places.
The Hidden Gem is Morfa Beach even in summer its quiet as people flock to the well known ones first, its short 10 minute drive from Llandudno or Conwy.

Enoch's Fish and chips in Llandudno Junction is very nice
In Llandudno Home Cooking is great just on the main street https://www.visitconwy.org.uk/things-to-do/conwy-morfa-beach-p293451
A Good Value traditional Greasy spoon is Mollys near the station.
llandudno has two beaches, main beach and west shore, there is a good cafe on west shore

A short drive over the little Orm and you can see seals at Angel bay and have a coffee here https://www.facebook.com/thebeachpenrhynbay
Then on to Rhos on sea, nice beach good Italian too.

All the above is 10-15 minutes drive from Llandudno or Conwy and I have only mentioned a few places.
If you fancy it Aber Falls is a very nice walk on a easy foot path with spectacular views.

If you do Aberfalls you might as well go for a coffee and look at Llanfairfechan beach.

Any questions just ask

Conwy Morfa Beach

Large sandy bay, which at low tide forms part of the extensive sandy beaches and mussel banks of Conwy Bay. It is good for fishing, has a marina and…

Rhosneigr or Trearddur Bay in Anglesey

On the Llyn, Abersoch is still lovely but it’s very much a (rich) Cheshire on sea vibe, at least in summer . Virtually all the welshness has been evaporated.

a few miles further on Aberdaron is lovely and has a real end of the world feel

sorry as a North Walian I disagree with this. Lots of pretty grim bits. Rhyl for starters

as a very general guide, the further west or further inland the nicer

Aberdyfi...some good places to eat ...Coast, Sea Breeze and Harbour Kitchen...Tides Inn wine bar. You've got the craft place at Corris which sells Dyfi gin, Talyllyn Railway at Tywyn..fantastic little museum and decent cafe. Millie and Sids in Tywyn does great food. You can get bus/ train to Tywyn from Aberdyfi ( 10 mins) and walk back along 4 mile beach stopping off at Trefeddian hotel for a beer and great views
