Accommodation for large multigenerational family gathering

Hi, I would love some recommendations for accommodation in England/Wales for 11 people - 7 adults, 3 teenagers, one 8 year old and dog! A games room and garden would be ideal and a hot tub as a bonus! We live in Essex so anywhere else would be fab. Thanks

I stayed here recently - totally fab. North Oxfordshire, hot tub, dog friendly. Says sleeps 10 not 11 but that may be negotiable? Probably not suitable if the dog wants to eat the resident swans. Daylesford Organic an easy drive for the food shop for a Sunday lunch on the outside terrace. Vair Mumsnet.

Other properties might also suit?

What will the room breakdown be, ie how many rooms do you need?

Nevercan · 29/03/2025 14:20

@boulevardofbrokendreamss we would 6 rooms +. We have 3 couples who need a double/king room each, 1 18 year old own room single or double and the other 4 teens ideally 2 twin rooms

You could look at youth hostels - some allow you to rent the entire place Altho that’s often more in off season

We did Center Parcs for a similar family gathering (a Golden Wedding). Longleat as it was best location (no one lives in Essex) but Elvendon would be closer for you.

We’ve been to the Dower House in The Knowlton Eatate, Kent several times. Bit bigger than what you need but you’d have plenty of space! We’ve also been to a fabulous barn conversion in Kent that would fit you all in. I need to go back and see if I can find the name as I can’t for the life of me remember it
