Growing up , where would you been travelling to this weekend?

Maybe a park or a football match maybe a Morecambe

The supermarket and back, on foot. Maybe WH Smiths on the local high street to stand and read books on the shelves for a few hours. Not a very exciting life.

If we were lucky Newstead Abbey or Bradgate Park.

Maybe Wollaton Park (and the hall with the stuffed orange utan)

More often, a grandparents for a salad of lettuce, beetroot and tinned salmon, followed by tinned peaches and evaporated milk.

Probably to my Nan and grandads on the Saturday or to the shops later in childhood when they'd passed, somewhere like Roman road market or Romford. Maybe a trip to the dogs on Saturday night. Sunday we didn't really do much from memory apart from having a roast, walking the dog, playing outside in the garden
