Do I need to go to the check-in desk if I’ve done it online?

What the title says really, flying with Ryanair and only hand luggage, have checked in online and got the boarding pass on my phone, I’ve never flown hand luggage only before. Do I need to go to the check in desk or can I go straight through security? All the information online seems conflicting and I’ve seen things about EU/non-EU passports which quite frankly since brexit confuses me!

Flying from Birmingham and have one of the new, blue UK passports if it matters. Friend I’m travelling with has one of the older red passports.

Straight through security. I live in spain and fly Ryanair back to the UK and Ireland regularly 👍

The old check in desks are now called bag drops instead as everyone usually checks in online so with no luggage and boarding passes ready you can just head to Security
