Hi everyone,

I have a 6mo and live in the northwest. My parents live in South Cornwall, so visiting them means a 7 to 8 hour car journey. (Unless we fly to Newquay but I prefer to drive).

Now that we have a baby, it’s making the logistics of travelling down to see them a bit different. We are considering breaking the journey into two parts and stopping off somewhere along the way just for the night.

If we do this, we want to make sure that it’s still a nice part of the trip, so we’d ideally like to go to a bit of a destination place, like a really nice hotel or a town with some nice restaurants or things to do for an afternoon. Does anyone have any recommendations for a nice hotel or area to stay, that is not too far from the M5 motorway perhaps somewhere around Bristol/Gloucester/Devon?

TIA!! ❤️
