Where to stay for Tate Britain

I'm planning to visit London with my six year as he wants to see some Turners and research tells me there's a whole room of them at Tate Britain.

It's not a part of London I'm familiar with at all and not sure where would be good to stay. He's not a brilliant traveller so I don't want to be too far out. However, if we could stay somewhere and get a boat ride down the river (does this even work with reality?! that would be fun) I usually stay in premier inns and plus train travel into Paddington I'm happy with somewhere unfancy!

There is a big Premier Inn just on the other side of Westminster Bridge, by the London Eye. It's not too far to walk to Tate Britain. But it doesn't really matter where you stay, as the Tube is so easy to navigate.

I am v impressed that your 6 year old likes Turner!

Thanks @Cynic17 I'll take a look at that.
He's doing topic about him at school or something, his teacher is an art specialist so that's how he's aware of him 😊
