Where to stay for easy access between The Oval and Wimbledon.

We are going to watch cricket at The Oval and the next day we have tickets for Wimbledon, we are looking for a “halfway” point between venues. What areas do you recommend?

Not between the two but Waterloo will provide good transport links to both areas.
Lots of bars/restaurants and access to the South Bank.

For Wimbledon we're staying at the Park Plaza Riverbank. Nicer and cheaper than Premier Inn County Hall and has a pool!

They are literally two stops away on the train (although the tennis is a bus/cab ride up the hill from Wimbledon station). So stay in central Wimbledon (travelodge/premier inn/Cannizaro/Hotel Antoinette). You can actually get to the Oval v quickly from South Wimbledon tube station too. Or as PP said, Waterloo if you don’t want to stay in a suburb
