Anyone travelled on Virgin's west coast mainline recently and used the replacement buses?

Was it awful? Did they take ages to arrive/ get to where you were going to get back on the trains?

We are thinking of taking the train rather than driving but this is worrying me!

they were a joke, hot crappy and not on time

Euston to preston....that does not sound promising.
So what actually happens, you get off the train en masse, everyone traipses to the station front, drags bags on bus etc.

It sounds like a recipe for chaos.
And there was me trying to be eco-friendly by taking the train.

assuming you will go through manchester, thats what happend to me, all off the train on to a bus, then back on another train was chao nd took so so long

i'd screw being eco friendly lol!
