London restaurant recommendation

Looking for a restaurant recommendation for lunch or pre-theatre in central London (anywhere in/around/between Regent St and Charing Cross areas). Nothing too expensive/fancy - just reasonable and a bit different maybe (not too keen on Chinese). Thanks.

Flat Iron - steak
Shoryu Ramen - best ramen I've had in London
Dirty Bones - burgers

I had a lovely meal here a few months ago. It's not super cheap though although I suspect with a group of 3 or 4, it would be less pricey.

Still in Tapas mode, I love Dehesa or any of the Salt Yard restaurants

There's a lovely Italian restaurant just opposite the Palladium, which we've been to a few times:

Amalfi

Or Jason Atherton's Mary which is also close by

And another place we've been to is Aqua Nueva which is contemporary tapas. Also very close to LP.

Polpo is just around the corner from the Palladium, really yummy Italian small plates - good for sharing.

Bancone on golden square is good and very affordable.

There is also a dishoom just behind liberty, and you may be able to get in there easily if you~5.30pm.

You should take a look at Nessa. They have an amazing pre-theatre menu, they're just on the Soho side of Regent Street.

There is a lovely bar for cocktails before/after dinner too.
