London music, stage show, etc suggestions

Off to London for a week next month. We had hoped to get to a show, but they all seem much more expensive than we expected. For instance Cirque de Soleil at the RAH was in the region of £250-300 for decent seats. Sadly we’re well past the standing stage. Also Witness for the Prosecution was similarly priced at the County. Any ideas for something fun at a reasonable price?

Also keen to see some live music, just pub type stuff, covers bands, jazz stuff, and the like, where you can sit back with a drink and just relax and enjoy the atmosphere.

We’re staying in South Kensington but happy to use the tube to get around.

There seem to be ringside seats for c d s at 156 £ next week. These are great seats.

We went to see the Harry Potter show The Cursed Child. It was brilliant and worth every penny 🙂

Come alive is great - music from the greatest showman with amazing acrobatics. Also not cheap but I got same day ticket for £25

Go to the ticket shops around Leicester Sq. on the day. We got tickets for Moulin Rouge, face value £135 for £85 each in Dec. If you have a wide spread of what you want to see you will get discounted tickets for many if the shows.

The Blues Bar on Carnarby Street can be good fun

Sit in the gods. I got a ticket for Cabaret for £30 not long ago - top price tickets are £300. And it is a fantastic show.
Try Operation Mincemeat, which is brilliant and not expensive.
Also, the National Theatre is usually reasonably priced.
There is lots of good stuff available for under £100 each.

Try TodayTix app, they sell a limited number of £25 tickets every morning at 10am for most west end shows, I've seen loads that way.

Operation mincemeat..it's great and very cheap some nights.

Look on this site London Theatre Tickets for seats from £22 to majpr West End shows. Won't be the best seats in the house but if you don't mind being in the gallery - it's the same show. Also some of the last minute sites are good. I got top price stalls seats to Hadestown for £80 each recently. It's still a lot of money but less than half the price they were on other sites.

Look at Crazy Coqs at Brasserie Zedel. They have cabaret every night - jazz and comedy
