£300 budget. Happy with hotel or cottage I need a break for various reasons and had hoped to find something at a bargain price with it being January. Either prices really are mega high or you have to stay somewhere not so nice but I'm not great with travel deals and other than Trish don't know where to look. Secret escapes was lovely but blasted my budget. Any other sites I can check ? Or if I find a hotel is it worth calling directly ? All ideas welcome. DH and I need to have a reset and a break
Thank you !🙏

Hawksmoor Guest House, Windermere (updated prices 2025) - booking.com currently has 26% off and the property are doing an early 2025 sale, so for 2 nights for a queen room it's saying it'll be £278 (presuming that you book for dates in January, I don't know when the deals are valid to)

£300 for what.....a night, weekend, a week??
Have a look outside of the national park area as it tends to be cheaper than the "honeypot" tourist destinations. Somewhere like Cockermouth maybe pr Kirkby Stephen, outskirts of Penrith. There's a few on here for under £300 for 3 nights next weekend:
