Hello! Looking for recommendations for a night out in London (two couples) to celebrate a 50th birthday in April. It can be reasonably pricey but looking for something quirky. Anything spring to mind?

I haven't been since 2019, what a shame! 😢

Sketch

Bob Bob Ricard

Brasserie Zedel (make sure to get cocktails in Bar Americano before or after)

Frog

Duck & Waffle (get a window table)

Some great recommendations here - thank you! The only one we have been to is a Sketch (which we loved!)

Restaurant Story
One of the Noble Rots? (if anyone in the group is into wine)
Dinner by Heston Blumenthal
Trivet London (famed for its Hokkaido potato mille-fuille)

Clos Maggiore in Covent Garden. Exceptional restaurant and a nice walk after.

Evan’s and Peel detective Agency. Brilliant night out, make sure you pick a night when they serve food. Also make sure friends go with the right attitude to it all.
the couple on the next table to us really did not get it. The left not even finishing their drinks.

Restaurant Story was very special. The Ritz was sensational for old-school glitz and glamour

Am loving these ideas - exactly what I was looking for - thank you

Another possibility:

Dans le Noir (eating in pitch black with blind waiters). Not done jt in London but have done it in other cities.

I went to see the Speakeasy experience, the meal, drinks and show were fantastic. Most attending dressed up and it was so immersive

Not for a special 50th - too quick to rush people through. It's arguably fine dining 101 for people who haven't done it before...

Not to say I haven't enjoyed it on the handful of occasions we have been - but I wouldn't recommend for this.

We went there several years ago and loved it! My sister had found someone's bracelet on the pavement so that was the "case" we gave them to solve!

Also I really like Rules for the history and formality.
