Hello, Can you please recommend places to visit in Edinburgh with a toddler? (I won't have a car but open to hiring a car for a day)
Also, I would like to book an Airbnb so should I do it via Airbnb website or some other website?

National museum has a bit for children of that age, like instruments, building blocks, Shadow puppets, funny mirrors, floor piano etc. and it's free!
Camera obscura is also worth a visit. Very interactive and not far from the national museum.
Princes street gardens has lots of play equipment suitable for toddlers.
The botanic gardens is good if the weather is nice, also free and has a couple of cafes.
The zoo is great, be warned its hilly buy you can hire a pushchair there.
Portobello beach has a good softplay, arcade, ice cream, nice cafes and an indoor swimming pool. Easy enough to reach by bus.
Also the tram is quite fun for kids that age.

Edinburgh zoo, and there’s a Holiday Inn next to it.

You really don’t want or need a car in Edinburgh, parking is horrendous and the bus service is excellent! www.lothianbuses.com
the above are all great suggestions and things that toddlers have really enjoyed. There’s a bridge behind the bandstand in princes street gardens which is sometimes open and has clear sides so you can watch the trains coming in and out of Waverley station. Or just going into the station to watch the big trains can seemingly be fun when you’re 2!
