Hotel in York

DH and I are looking for a 2 night stay in York, currenlty planning to take the train from London.

Any recommendations for a nice hotel? King size/Super King size bed, city centre location, nice breakfast which is more than the usual kept hot under a heat lamp stuff, I would prefer ordering from a menu. Otherwise near to a nice cafe to go for breakfast instead.

Partisan on Micklegate is great for breakfast.
There’s a Hotel Du Vin near the racecourse.
Gray’s Court on Ogleforth is lovely. It used to be the English and History department when I was at uni. A beautiful old building.

The Hocus Pocus Tiny Hotel is cute, too, and right in the centre.

This is lovely and right near the centre, the Minster, Bootham Bar guesthousehotels.co.uk/no-1-york/

Dean Court Hotel is right next to the Minster in the city centre. We stayed here in the summer, and highly recommend it.

It has a breakfast buffet with the usual selection of foods, but you can also order from a menu.

The Grand is great. Old style, big classic hotel with a nice little spa and fab breakfast - stayed here a few times and wouldn't hesitate to recommend or return.
I would also strongly advise a visit to The Cheesecake Guy on The Shambles if you like a cheesecake - unreal! DH and I often make a trip to York just to go here! Enjoy your trip, York is beautiful!

I love The Grand. Haven’t stayed for years but it was a real treat.

I stayed in Clementine’s Guest House, in the Rowntree Suite, at the beginning of December and loved it! Breakfast is from a menu and it’s only about five minutes’ walk into town. And they have a cat!

I love cats but I am also allergic. That may be a minus point unfortunately.
