Argh help - 40th birthday cottage stay

Please help! I've been looking on and off for months for the perfect family weekend getaway for my partners 40th in February, and now Christmas is over it suddenly seems urgent!

It is for 3 adult couples, of which:

1 couple have two children with whom they cosleep so really they need a large bed, the dad can go elsewhere if needed
1 couple have a young baby with whom they cosleep, plus an older child who can go on a blow up mattress with them if needed

Ideally I'd like a hot tub to entertain the kids and a location that has fun family things within close driving distance! Dog UNfriendly would be better due to allergies.

We're in the northwest so lakes or Peak District area would be ideal.

Hoping Mumsnet can work its magic...

My partner is the best guy I've known, so really want it to be special for him

Have you looked at Forest Holidays for hot tubs? Or Center Parcs for general family stuff to do?

Put your requirements/dates on the Facebook page holiday cottages uk and cottage owners will respond. Only ever deal with owners who respond on the page with proper booking links on their website/air bnb, not to inbox messages. I've found several via this page as you can be specific about what you need.

Only to find it's no longer available. 😢

I have previously found this website helpful for similar. The search criteria is really useful.

Thanks all! I have looked at centre parcs but I feel like the costs will quickly ramp up there, also we'd only be able to do 2 nights (21st/22nd) which I don't think you can book.

@WomenInConstruction that looks like a gorgeous place, what a shame it's closed! That website suggestion looks great though, I'll have a good look on there.

Thank you all!

I think you’ll find most places want 3 nights for a long weekend. If you’re looking for 2, that may be why you’re struggling to find what you want. Can the couple with school age children leave earlier than the rest of you?

If you’re 6 adults, 2 children and a baby, Center Parcs can be really good value if you go in term time, do a food shop before you go, and make use of the pool. Plus very easy.

It’s worth booking 3 nights so that you can stay for the full day even if you don’t stay fur the last night, otherwise most places want you out by 10am!

What about North Wales? This great place is a short drive away from the town and has a hot tub

The Sun Inn in nearby Trevor has great food as does the Meeting point in Llangollen.
Some local stuff here

If any one likes cars and motor bikes then The Ponderosa Cafe has stunning views and sometimes a motor bike of Car meet, the Llangollen motor museum is nearby but is only open a few times a month
