Like llandudno with arcades / pier but not?

looking for a day out recommendation other than Blackpool / Rhyl for arcades over the weekend. Normally go to Llandudno but with the pier being storm damaged we’ll try somewhere else. Was looking at going away for the weekend but just a day trip now so within 90 mins or so of Chester is ideal.

Southport, not too far away, has a lovely pier and an old arcade at the end, Will they be open though?

Southport Pier has been closed for many months, the Arcade is still open as are the ones in the centre of town. The Swan for Lunch or Volare for a great Italian

Oh no! I think we're planning New Brighton this weekend. Don't know if they have the slots though

New Brighton is small but perfectly formed 2-3 hours should cover it you could spend the rest of the day in Liverpool?.
Nice Beach, Crazy golf, indoor fair and arcade.
This cafe is great it still sells Egg and Chips!

Fort Perch rock, is some times open nice to see.
