HELP. We're planning to go to TL on Bank Holiday Monday. Think we'd like to stay the night before. Somewhere near to Tamworth to save kids boring 2 hr drive before we get there.

I don't know this part of the world at all. Are there any nice hotels nearby (v good 3 or preferably 4 star)? Or is Central Birmingham a better place to stay (we might get a cheap rate at a business hotel)?

Any advice greatly appreciated

Hi,

Try Lichfield, it's only 5-6 miles away from Tamworth and it has some really nice, family run, hotels and nice places to go for dinner if you want to..

Try The George Hotel and The Angel Croft Hotel, both are nice and within walking distance to town (George is in town centre)

If you need any more advice let me know, it's my stomping ground!

They are on cereal packets, you may have to look for them as the new ones have free swim sessions on now but the zoo vouchers ones are still around, just cut it off the box and take it to the zoo you want to go to.

Where is Thomas Land? Sounds just what we are looking for when we come over in the summer from Ireland. Hoping it is around London - cambridge are??!!

Sorry it's right next to Birmingham, which might not be too much of a drive from London but is not exactly ont he doorstep. Nearer is Legoland at Windsor.
