Which premier inn in London?

Arriving at Liverpool St for 3 nights.
Looking for a premier inn budget hotel. Bit overwhelmed with which one to book.
Possibly Waterloo or county hall or is there a better one for usual sight seeing?

I find the County Hall one very convenient. 5 mins walk to Westminster or Waterloo, lots of buses nearby.

pecanroll · 31/10/2024 08:28

I'm not sure on pricing but there are some Travelodges and premier Inns around Aldgate that I would assume would be cheaper whilst still being convenient.

Fizzysister · 31/10/2024 08:32

I really rate the London Central Travelodge. It's between Aldgate and Liverpool Street so convenient for many lines and is quite new. They have family rooms too, we had a double with a single either side of it. A bit cosy but fine.

County Hall, possibly.

We stayed at Blackfriars once and it was convenient for sightseeing but it's gone very expensive.

We now tend to stay at Wembley Park and get the tube in whenever we visit London.

mumonthehill · 31/10/2024 08:47

County hall is a great one and so central.

Anisty · 31/10/2024 08:50

I stayed in Premier closest to East Aldgate tube in July this year and it was great. Walkable to Tower area in 15 mins or just 3 mins' walk to tube (east aldgate very close and Aldgate also close)

I have also stayed in Travelodge nearest Aldgate tube and no problems there either

Cocolapew · 31/10/2024 08:53

DD found the Travelodge near Waterloo (sorry can't remember where exactly) to be much cheaper than the Premier Inn nearby the other week.

Grannyinnwaiting · 31/10/2024 11:48

We are currently staying at Citizen M about the same price but much better tha PI - it's 2 stops from liverpool street on the central line and next door to the station - very impressed with it

InfiniteTeas · 31/10/2024 11:52

The one at Woolwich is usually cheaper than most and is a couple of minutes walk from the Elizabeth line which is very fast into central London, and usually less packed than most lines. It's also in a nice, fairly recently rejuvenated area right by the river, with good cafes, a gastropub and a ferry stop if you want to take the riverboat into town. You can get the Elizabeth line from Liverpool Street. I've always found the staff really pleasant and helpful there as well.

Another vote for county hall here

Rawrrawr1 · 31/10/2024 11:56

We stayed at the Premier Inn tower bridge in the summer, really easy to get around and a really quick walk down to the Tower or over the bridge to the southbank.
Have also stayed in the Aldgate one previously, stones throw again from Tower and brick Lane and there's some nice pubs nearby

Bohemond23 · 31/10/2024 11:57

The absolute best one is PI Tate Modern. Walkable to many places and, even better, Caravan restaurant around the corner for breakfast.

Unbelooth · 31/10/2024 11:58

Stay at a Premier Inn Hub. They're brilliant. And be sure to book the limitless breakfast for £8!

FaceLikeACrackedScreen · 31/10/2024 12:00

I thought the Tower Bridge one was very shabby when I stayed there for work recently.

Singleandproud · 31/10/2024 12:04

If you are coming into Liverpool Street then the PI at Stratford is great, a little further out though and cheaper for it. Rooms are larger than in central London. The Travelodge at Liverpool street is cheaper than PI, in a nice area has a great stone baked pizza place nar by and a Tesco to stock up.

Farringdon PI is more centrally placed, rooms smaller, not all rooms have natura light as windows are on to the lift lobby get out at Barbican not Farringdon though as it's closer. Near St Paul's tube and Elizabeth line, another nice area, Sainsbury's near by for bits and pieces.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 31/10/2024 12:07

Not the euston one if the weather is warm.
It's fine otherwise and very convenient if getting into London by train. But a lot of the windows don't open and it gets very VERY hot and stuffy in there in warm days. No air con. And it's not covered by their good night guarantee.

paulhollywoodshairgel · 31/10/2024 12:09

We just stayed at the premier inn docklands Canning Town. 30 seconds away from the tube. About 25 mins into London. Loads of restaurants and a supermarkets around. 10 mins walk from O2 and cable cars.

ChanelBoucle · 31/10/2024 12:16

I’ve done County Hall, Aldgate, Kensington Olympia, West Brompton Hub and Southwark Bankside. I think County Hall was my favourite in terms of location and while West Brompton was best value for money it’s probably not ideal with a family as the rooms are too small.

Piffpaffpoff · 31/10/2024 12:34

We always go to Old Street. 2 mins from a tube and on good bus routes and usually very well priced,

Notgoodatpoetrybutgreatatlit · 31/10/2024 12:51

Bearing in mind that I'm obsessed with Soho, but have you considered staying there?
I know it's more expensive but you would be able to walk to most places and the atmosphere and the vibe!
There are so many interesting shops and places to eat and things would be right on your doorstep.

Stopcoughing · 31/10/2024 12:57

Is the tower bridge one listed as Bank (tower) or is there a Tower Bridge one?

OP posts:
greengreyblue · 31/10/2024 12:59

There’s one on Tower Bridge Road. Also I think Euston Road but not stayed there.

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 31/10/2024 13:33

Travelodge at Liverpool st/ Devonshire square is cheaper still convenient

wishiwasacollie · 31/10/2024 13:48

Premier Inn Hub in Brick Lane is great. It's my go to in London - 5 minutes walk from Liverpool Street.
