Another call for recommendations - Near Bournemouth/SW

Hi everyone, I keep getting very good recommendations on here, so I'm shamelessly back to pick your brains, as I'm very, very indecisive:

I would like to travel for a few days (3 nights) over half term with my 6 year-old. First night, we will go to Bournemouth from London and stay with a friend there. I have another 3 days and 2 nights. I'd rather not stay in Bournemouth as I know it.

Where would you recommend travelling onward from Bournemouth for a couple of days, without a car, knowing we have to head back to London on the third day.

I'd do Corfe Castle in Dorset - you can get a bus from Poole which takes you over the car ferry, lots to do in a few days (model village, you can walk up to the castle, cute shops and cafes, playground, costal walks are a pleasant bus ride away, steam train to Swanage which is running during HT!)

Ah, so you recommend staying in Poole the next two nights with a day trip to the castle? Sounds fun!

Ah sorry just seen your reply! Corfe castle is also the name of the town, so you could stay there!

Train to Bath. No car needed there, and train back to London Paddington.
