Anyone know Yeovil and surrounding villages?

Hi everyone. DH, DS2 and myself are driving DS1 to Yeovil on Saturday so that he can meet up with some friends and attend a music festival (which starts at 1pm) and sleepover. DS2 (aged 10), DH and I are booked into a hotel just outside Yeovil for Saturday night but I am wondering what we can do on Saturday afternoon. Can anyone recommend a nice pub for lunch or any pretty villages nearby that we can visit? Is there anything in Yeovil itself worth seeing?

Second LL, avoid Yeovil like the plague.It's just one big roundabout. If you go to Monatcute and fancy a breath of fresh air, you can go up to Ham Hill just past Montacute and have a lovely walk and fabulous view. There are loads of lovely pubs around and even one at the top of Ham Hill.

Fleet Air Arm museum is always a hit, or Haynes Motor Museum at Sparkford if it is raining.

Or you could go in the opposite direction and go up Glastonbury Tor or visit Glastonbury Abbey....

Thank you littlelapin and cameroonmama. It's DS1 at the festival and DH, DS2 and me who will be at a loose end. DH would be very interested in the Fleet Air Arm Museum as he used to be an Aircraft Engineer in a previous life (but I think I might forget to mention it in favour of Glastonbury Abbey, Montacute and Ham Hill ). Thank you for the links. If we end up in the Queens Arms I'll have a drink for you LL.
