Where to stay in London

Hi there, I'm travelling to London next weekend...4 of us with 3 going to Crystal Palace for match on Saturday and 1 (me!) hoping to potter around Notting Hill or Camden market.
Could anyone give me any advice on what area I should look at for airbnb? I haven't a notion and the other 3 travellers are no help!!! Thank you so much!

Maybe somewhere near London Bridge or Victoria if they have to get to Crystal Palace (which I think is Selhurst station - quite far out). But you’ll be ok anywhere in zone 1-2 really.

Are you driving or going by train?

Train...We are flying into Stansted and going from there

Yes I think London Bridge is the best bet. You can go straight to Selhurst from there and also straight up to Camden on the northern line from there too (and easy to change and get to Notting Hill) .

Also added bonus of borough market and right by the river, tower bridge with loads of great restaurants.

Thank you so much...this is so helpful...and I might not have to sell one of the kids to stay in that area!!

Even if you didn't stay right in London Bridge .. somewhere a bit more residential and lovely (zone 2) is East Dulwich. Ten minutes on the train to London Bridge and on the same way in the other direction about 15/20 mins direct to Selhurst

*same line

Much nicer places than Camden Market IMHO for shopping or mooching - its all the same tie-dye rubbish they have been selling for last 40 years and mobbed with tourists.

Norwood Junction Station is only about a 10 minute walk from the ground and there are trains from London Bridge.

We always stay at Brook Green Hotel in Hammersmith. A lovely little neighbourhood, doesn’t feel like central London however it’s incredibly well connected with 2 tube stations and 4 lines (H&C, Circle, District & Piccadilly) right on your doorstep. We adore it - such a gorgeous hotel in a handy location

Where would you go other than Camden for mooching?? I would be thrilled to get a recommendation 😀

One of our favourite things to do is a walk along Southbank towards Borough Market for lunch. DD always likes a mooch around Chelsea, Pavilion Road is particularly gorgeous. Can’t miss out Soho either, both for shopping and food!
