DH and I are planning a 3-night city break for next month. Is Liverpool worth considering? Any recommendations of places to see and visit there welcomed 🙂

See if your visit coincides with River of Light next month, that's always lovely.

See what's on at the Royal Court for some proper regional entertainment.

Walker Art Gallery, Albert Dock, cathedrals, lots of good food choices. Whatever you're after you'll probably be covered!

Anglican cathedral

Bold St, Lark Lane, Sefton Park, Georgian Quarter, loads of museums, Ferry Across the Mersey, Cavern Club (even if you are not a fan), NT Beatles Tour.

This is a great website for events https://www.explore-liverpool.com/

Also do you homework on where to stay and eat and book up as best restaurants get fully booked at weekends. Are you going over the half term - as it will likely be busy.

Its a fabulous city - lots of fun, energy and creativity.

It's a great city, although three nights maybe one too many.

Check what's on at the theatres.

There's a WW2 museum which is lovely - https://liverpoolwarmuseum.co.uk

Both cathedrals are well worth a visit and if you walk between the two you'll really notice how stunning both are but how very different.

Bold Street for restaurants.

Crosby Beach - take wellies!

Western Approaches

I took some tourists from the US to Liverpool last year and we got the open top bus tour, and despite having been to Liverpool on numerous occasions I learned loads of cool things about the city

I'd highly recommend it!

You can go in both cathedrals.
Western Approaches is an interesting museum.
The Albert Dock has museums too and is a nice place to visit. You can go on the wheel there.
There's a music exhibition in the Cunard Building which is one of the Three Grace's.
You can right up to the top of the Liver Buildings
Go up the Radio City Tower.
Visit Everton stadium not the other one :)
See the bombed out church
The Walker Art Gallery, library and World museum are all in a row and are all interesting.

The speed boat trip around the dock is our favourite, if you are up for it they take you to a stretch of dock with no speed limit its great.
Western approaches, Ghetto Golf, Baltic Market, Gracie Market

Bold Street is great for food, best to book if you can
Lark Lane is also another food destination, but a short drive out of the city centre
Other nearby stuff, but really you don't need to leave the city
Knowsley Safari Park

New Brighton
Its strange being sat on the beach and seeing the Liverpool skyline in the distance

Southport is a short Train ride away
