We are looking for somewhere to go in October half term. We'd like somewhere with a fun swimming pool and some activities for under 10s that doesn't cost an extortionate amount of money. Does anyone have any recommendations?

100% Bluestone. There is so much do for small children that's completely free.

tigertummy · 22/09/2024 12:08

@Forgottenmyphone annoyingly we've left it too late and it's fully booked. Will definitely consider it for another time

Sandy balls fits the brief

CurbsideProphet · 22/09/2024 17:00

@tigertummy the swimming pool at Bluestone is not comparable to Centre Parcs, just to make you aware.

Butlins Bognor - stay in the hotel not a chalet though. The pool is fantastic

Riverhillhouse · 22/09/2024 17:11

OP there was another thread recently about exactly this with loads of suggestions. I’ll see if I can link it.

Riverhillhouse · 22/09/2024 17:19

Hmm can’t seem to find it 🤔. Maybe I was wrong.

tigertummy · 23/09/2024 13:15

Thanks for trying to find it @Riverhillhouse

Thanks. Will check out those

Pricier than Centre Parcs but the accommodation is way better and there’s a lot of free activities to keep children occupied.

I'm not sure anywhere else has a pool that compares. Butlins is probably closest and also has the funfair. Some of the Center Parcs in Europe are cheaper but take a lot longer to get to.

organicapricot · 23/09/2024 13:30

Had a great few days with my DD at Halloween a couple of years ago. She was 3 at the time but enough for older ones too www.ribbyhall.co.uk/

Lavendersquare · 23/09/2024 13:33

Sandy Balls is fabulous but the pool is just a pool so nothing like Centre Parcs.

cookiedough174 · 23/09/2024 13:35

Ribbey hall, it's near Blackpool.
Loads do stuff on for children and a great swimming pool with slides.

MissAtomicBomb1 · 24/09/2024 19:15

Butlins! The pool isn't as good as CP but the closest you'll find. Free fairground, lots of shows & good quality live entertainment if it rains. mini golf, hi ropes, bike hire etc.
Minehead in Somerset is next to a lovely beach & a steam railway.

KnickerlessFlannel · 24/09/2024 19:19

Centre parcs in Europe are considerably cheaper than in the UK, even adding on travel costs. We've enjoyed several in the Netherlands by train and plane.

Try Glynn Barton although they book up quickly.
